only in select areas of Central and Eastern Kentucky. To find out

| How fast is your Internet service? |
| Our service is really fast! Our most popular plan is over 120 times
the speed of dial-up with top speeds that surpass wire-based DSL and
cable. If that's not enough, you can upgrade to a plan with even more
bandwidth! Whether you need voice and Internet service for 1 or a
business of 1000, we can tailor fit an affordable solution to meet
your needs. |
| |
| Is your phone service wireless too? |
| Yes, we're an "un-wired" company. Wires aren't required
anymore. They're outdated, ugly and can even be dangerous. Help us
clean up the world by switching to our wireless service. ;-) |
| |
| Is this cellular phone service? |
| No. Our phone service works just like your existing home/business
phone service except better. Our wireless technology allows you to
do more, save more and experience more functionality all at the same
time. |
| |
| Does your phone service support faxing? |
| No. Our phone service does not support faxing at this time. |
| |
| If I switch to your service, will I still need my
local phone service provider? |
| No, you can finally cancel them. They've been gouging
your pocketbook long enough. With KyWiFi, you'll experience telephone
service unlike any other. Our network is digital, not analog, so it's
clearer and offers many features not available with traditional phone
service such as voicemail-to-email and caller id with both name and number,
even when used with call waiting. |
| |
| If I switch to your service, will I still need my
long distance provider? |
| No, you get to disconnect them too! Long distance service is included
with all of our broadband phone plans whether you choose it by the minute or unlimited. |
| |
| If I switch to your Internet service, will I still need my
cable provider? |
| Well that depends if you are using them for television programming,
Internet access or both. If you are only using them for Internet
access, you can cancel them. |
| |
| Can I use my existing phones? |
| Yes, our service works with your existing corded and/or cordless
phones as well as answering machines. If you have
a PBX in your office, we will configure it to work with our service
at the time of installation. Additional fees may apply. |
| |
| How many computers can I connect to your Internet
service? |
| As many as you want, we don't limit you to a specific number of IP enabled devices. |
| |
| Can I use your service for online gaming? |
| Yes, our network is perhaps the best suited network for online gaming.
Our latency and pingtimes are far lower than wire-based DSL and cable.
Games run smoother and faster! |
| |
| How do I connect to your Internet service? |
| Following installation, your Internet connection will always be
connected. No need for an additional phone line or frustrating dial-up
processes. Just point and click! |
| |
| Is this satellite service? |
| No, satellite systems (such as DirecWay, Starband and Wild Blue)
send and receive data from a satellite in space tens of thousands
of miles away. In other words, they are slow and really only a little
bit faster than dial-up. Plus, most of them require your uploads to
be sent via a phone line thus requiring a telephone line. With KyWiFi,
your location will send and receive data from a broadcast tower in
your area which is usually only a few miles away. With satellite,
latency makes many online applications such as gaming, VPN and VoIP
nearly impossible. If you're a current Internet satellite user you're
going to be amazed once you logon with KyWiFi! |
| |
| Is this service really tax free and regulatory fee
free? |
| Yes, other than the $1.50 per phone number regulatory recovery fee,
$0.99 911 surcharge and 3% universal service recovery fee (phone service
only), we are not required to collect city/state taxes or other federal
fees on our phone and Internet services. You are also excluded from
taxes on your long distance calling as well. Since our service transmits
and receives voice as data packets across our private network, we
are not required by law to charge tax. The Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) has worked to create an environment promoting competition
and innovation to benefit consumers. Historically, the FCC has not
regulated the Internet or the services provided over it. On February
12, 2004, the FCC found that an entirely Internet-based VoIP service
was an unregulated information service. In the event that the FCC
later imposes a tax on our services, we will alert you of it prior
to your next billing date. We do not anticipate any taxes for the
foreseeable future as the FCC and even President Bush favor our technologies
over those utilized by our competitors and are pushing for other companies
to follow our lead. |
| |
| How long will it take to get installed? |
| Most installations are scheduled 2 - 3 days in advance and will
take approx. 2 - 3 hours from start to finish depending on the equipment
you select and your visibility to one of our broadcast towers. If
you only need a mobile account for your laptop, we can usually get
you online within 24 hours assuming that you already have an 802.11b
compatible wireless card or the Centrino processor. If not, just let
us know and we can find a way to get you connected at minimal cost. |
| |
| Can I keep my current phone number? |
| Yes, assuming of course that your current phone number is a local
number which is available for porting to our network. In most cases,
this is not a problem. You will be issued a temporary phone number
on the day of installation. Due to forces beyond our control, it will
take at minimum 20 business days to transfer your current phone number.
Our company submits the transfer request the same day that your service
is installed and from that point forth, your current phone company
will determine how long the process takes to complete. |
